About the Slug Lady Control Method
Gain control over the slug and snails in your garden and minimize slug damage by using Slug Lady barriers. Slug Lady barriers stop slugs by holding slug repellants in place around your seedling or plant. Everyone knows that salt is a natural and effective slug deterrent so Slug Lady uses salt .These slug control barriers are made from a highly absorbent, recycled board that has been impregnated with salt. The boards join to form a flexible slug and snail barrier around your valuable plants and will effectively control what the slug and snails eat in your garden. As water is absorbed from the soil the salt rises and forms a protective ring around the top of the barrier.The slug and snails will be prevented from crossing the salty surface of the barrier to your protected plants and will have to go elsewhere for their food.
Slug Lady barriers are available untreated so that you can spray on or soak other natural slug deterrents into the absorbent boards. 
Leave no gaps under the wall or over hanging leaves/ stones/ sticks that may form bridges. 
Each wall is 18inchs long (42cm fits neatly around a 5inch flower pot) and they join easily together to form any sized protective barrier around plants, plant pots, borders and fruit tree trunks. 
The slit sides can be folded to form an anchor in hard soil, to allow more sunlight to small seedlings or to adjust fitting around certain sized pots. |

WILL SALT AFFECT THE SOIL? A. SOME SOURCES CAUTION THE USE OF SALT. SALT BUILD UPS IN SOILS MAY HAMPER THE GROWTH OF A PLANT. WITH CAREFUL WATERING THE SALT WILL SIMPLY RISE THROUGH THE BOARD AND FORM A REPELLENT RING AROUND THE TOP OF THE BARRIER.THE SALT IN SLUG LADY TREATED BARRIERS CAN BE WASHED OUT IN VERY HEAVY RAINFALL. IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES THE SALT IS VERY WATERED DOWN AND IN A WEAK SOLUTION. IT WILL MOST LIKELY BE WASHED AWAY INTO THE SUB-SOIL. ROTATING CROPS IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA. Q. Salt damage to delicate young leaves is avoided by ensuring their is enough space between the barrier and the leaf AND slug lady barriers interlock to form larger barriers if needed .
